Working with families, as a psychotherapist for over 20 years, I have come to believe that marriage isn’t work when you live and play by “The Rules”. When my son married, I wanted to send him and his bride off with something other than “Best Wishes”. Out of my desire to send them off with a guide I gave them the 18 Rules.

In collaboration with artist Nancy Swan Drew, what began as a mother’s guidance to her son, has evolved into a bigger project. It is a project developed and driven by the desire to inspire couples to “hang in there”. The Rules, if practiced, can guide a couple in a union that is respectful, energized and dynamic.
